Our household faced a very dire situation recently. After a long hard day at work, we raced home to prepare our evening drinks only to find NO ICE in our freezer’s ice maker! Oh, the agony!!!!

While we suffered that night without any ice cubes in our drinks, I was quick to research the problem and decided that I would attempt to diagnose the problem and replace the ice maker if necessary.

After getting out my trusty voltmeter I was able to determine that the tray motor was fried and the entire unit needed to be replaced. A few days later, I was able to remove and replace the unit and after a few hours of intense anticipation, was suddenly rewarded with five ice cubes! Success! It works perfectly now!

Bad motor easily diagnosed with this handy dandy voltmeter

And while I mainly did this to show Natalie how talented I am with household maintenance, it seems like I was really the only one that was impressed with my handiwork. Time for a drink! Cheers!

JACKPOT!

Did I ever mention the time I decided to convert a brand new natural gas dryer to liquid propane while we lived at our Steinthal home? Here’s that story!
