Almost two months to the day after Natalie suffered a concussion within our home, she has unfortunately had a recurrence of her symptoms with horrible headaches, nausea, and severe vertigo causing her to miss work and even have difficulty staying upright for extended periods of time. She was starting to feel better this weekend and overstepped her abilities while at a friend’s house during the Alzheimer’s Walk. A few cartwheels and vigorous dancing on the driveway put her over the edge and have now resulted in us starting over again with treatments and more subdued daily routines.

Turns out this is not the thing to do when you are recovering from a concussion…

Thankfully, I was able to get her into her physical therapist on Monday afternoon and start her therapy again and we meet her again later today. We are both hoping that she is at least able to get to a point where her symptoms improve enough that we can still make our trip to San Diego next Tuesday, but that is certainly questionable at this point in time. It’s been a rough year for us despite trying to stay positive. For now, we hope that our situation improves in the days, weeks, months, and years to come.
